Try These Simple Breathing Techniques with Essential Oils

We love diffusing calming essential oils to help unwind and bring peace to our mind and body.  

In case you didn’t know, essential oils are naturally derived extracts from plants. The extracted oil captures the smell or ‘essence’ of the plant, along with other benefits. It can then be used in many ways, including diffused with water or added into wax to create cleaner-burning candles.  

At DashBar, we use essential oils to enhance our beauty services and further immerse you in relaxation. Our oil blends help to alleviate stress and promote tranquility. Some of our favorite essential oils are lavender, eucalyptus, and chamomile. 

When you are diffusing oil at home, you can diffuse the scents you prefer individually or mix them to create unique blends.

For total relaxation at home, you should also center your mind by practicing calming breathing techniques.  

While diffusing your favorite essential oil, sit in a comfortable position, and try following this easy breathing exercise.    

  1. Count to four slowly as you take a deep breath in through your nose.   
  1. Use the same slow four-count to release the breath through your mouth.  
  1. Notice your breath and how your body reacts. Your shoulders and chest will rise and fall, becoming more relaxed with each breath.   
  1. If your mind wanders, simply notice that it wandered and direct your focus back to your breath.  
  1. Repeat this as many times as you need, up to several minutes.
